Magdalen Islands Metis Aboriginal Nation would hereby like
to ask all inactive members to renew.
The Gaspe Peninsula, Lower St. Lawrence and Magdalen Islands Metis Aboriginal Nation would hereby like to ask all inactive members to renew their membership cards. We continued to work hard to defend our interests in 2016. Our active membership grew from 4 000 to 10 000 members and the total number of registered members, including children, is 15 695. In addition, last October the Federal Government collected a copy of our list of members to study it in Ottawa, which is definitely positive for our Nation.
We believe that we are the only nation to have several cases before the courts at the present time. We envision huge changes for our Nation between now and the end of 2017 and we are counting on your membership to assist us in our quest for the acknowledgement of our Metis rights.
